Cherry Media Cabinet Custom Finishing

Built for a historic home designed and constructed by the prestigious McKim, Mead & White architectural firm, this cherry media cabinet -- with a sliding panel system designed to hide a 70'' TV -- was conceived to replace an older, less-elegant late-period cabinet addition, with the intention to better blend with the intricate original wood-paneled living room. We developed a painstaking multi-step finishing system to blend a dozen varied shades and values, bridging the gap between the shadow-darkened and the sun-bleached areas to create a beautiful uniformity.
