Schooner Adventure Captain's Quarters
Gloucester, Massachusetts
The Schooner Adventure is a living piece of history; built in Essex, Massachusetts in 1926, it was one of the last knockabout fishing schooners built and is one of the last surviving ships of it's kind. A monument to Cape Ann's fishing heritage, Adventure is a designated National Historic Site and has been undergoing extensive restoration for over two decades. As part of the final phase of the process, the captain's cabin is being restored to its former glory and Dogtown Restoration was brought onto the project to design and apply a custom varnish system to replicate the amber patina and protect this magnificent vessel for another century at sea.
